Pharmanautix Italia s.r.l., a company operating in the field of biotechnology research, is seeking a professional for the position and employment classification (inquadramento) of Machine Learning Specialist (Multi-Omics), to be hired under a full-time, fixed-term employment contract, with their place of work in Milan, Italy, and working fully remotely, subject to periodic business travel within Italy and the possibility of occasional international business travel.

- C.C.N.L. Chimica e Affini – Industria, level D1. Base monthly salary €2,053.03 over thirteen instalments — gross annual salary (R.A.L.) €26,689.39.

What you will do
- Review the current ML engine.
- Expand the current ML engine with new features.
- Test the ML engine, optimising model hyperparameters and systematically assessing model performance, robustness and generalisability across varying experimental conditions, datasets and input configurations.
- Occasionally curate, preprocess and perform quality control on datasets.
Required
- Python, PhD-level.
- Machine learning general knowledge, PhD-level.
- PyTorch.
- CUDA-accelerated ML.
- PhD with focus on either computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology (or equivalent) – OR master degree + 2 years working experience for a big tech company.
- Some experience using cluster computing from remote access, e.g. SSH or similar.
- Some experience with multiomic data.
Preferred
- Experience with transformers.
- Deep understanding of multiomic data: how to interpret and troubleshoot bulk-RNA sequencing, single-cell RNA sequencing, TMT proteomics, SNPs in genomics, etc.
- Positive-Unlabeled Learning (PU).
- Experience in biology, e.g. wet lab, or medical – for better domain knowledge.
